What's coming? Week Calendar 2.2

Week Calendar 2.0 was a huge success (1000 App Store comments with an average rating of 4.87  / 5 in only a few days), but we have been working hard on version 2.2 already.

Version 2.2 will mostly refine the user experience, the interface and add a couple of new things. We've highlighted a couple of key new features in this blog post.

Performance
We have made huge gains in performance: 2.2 is on average 3 times faster on loading events and scrolling weeks due to heavy pre-loading, caching and some clever tricks.

Settings cleanup
Since every new version of Week Calendar added more and more settings, the settings screen got a bit unorganized.  For 2.2, we've evaluated and reorganized every option to make things much easier to work with:

All-day area
The all-day area got some extra love too: it now has proper support for copy & paste and has the same way as the normal calendar to create a new all-day event: tap-&-hold brings out a "New" popup.

Custom Week Numbers
A lot of business users start their year not on January 1, but, for example on March 1 (e.g. fiscal years). We've added support for this in our next update: simply set the date at which your year starts and we calculate the week numbers for you:

There is a lot more to come!

  2. Just, FINALLY, found your wonderful product. Well done!

    Two quick suggestions:

    1) While you're at it with the week number, add an option to hide it. For some of us it's just a distraction.

    2) Add an option to re-order the calendar list. I bet I'm not the only one who has just a few calendars that I want to see only sometimes. It'd be great to be able to move those to the top of the list.

Thanks again, and looking forward to 2.2 and beyond!

  3. Can you add also more colors for appointments and the ability to create category for appointments on the calendar?
For example, I'd like to have the feature to create a new appointment, mark it as a "sport" appointment (where "sport" is a custom category with a specific color created by me) and automatically have it on the calendar with the specific color for evidence.
